Progressives ( or multifocals, no-line bifocals ) are essentially three prescriptions in one lens so you get a clear view at multiple ranges: distance, mid-range and near with no visible line on the lens. Although you get the benefit of having no line in your lenses, progressives will have areas of distortion on either side of the lens.

Set yourself up for success in your new progressive glasses. Frames with the right lens height and width ensure space for all vision zones, providing clear and comfortable vision. Most average-sized frames work best, as oversized are usually less ideal. Frames shouldn't be so tall that they make it harder for your eyes to smoothly access the near-vision areas, or so wide that they increase blurriness in the side areas of your mid and near vision.
